Sorry for the lack of posts, I've not made or done anything interesting recently. I worked a lot on my portfolio for Uni and I'm going to Heriot Watt to study Fashion which I'm very excited about. I thought I would show you a part of my advanced Higher art that you probably saw on my Instagram. It was very fun but took a while to make. The two-piece top and skirt are made of white cotton with a gesso surface texture, with colour painted on top. The outer shawl/cardigan is blue mesh painted with fabric paint and linked yellow plastic pieces sewn into it. Anyway, I really like this, and I think it helped me a lot in my portfolio. I can't wait until next year, I’m glad I have finished my portfolio and I am very proud of it.
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, been doing portfolio stuff for uni. Thought I would share with you a t-shirt that I painted on as a christmas present. I felt like the red and orange colours of the fishes would look really cool in contrast with the blue background. I decided to just paint a picture on the back and leave the front blank because it would be unexpected when viewing from the front and wanted to paint the biggest area possible
So a while ago I went to the botanic gardens in St. Andrews to see the lovely butterflies. I was so surprised how they weren't scared of you at all and were really cute and friendly. I decided that I wanted to take this concept into a little project. So I looked into cool butterflies and fashion inspired by butterflies and came up with this elaborate structure. Definitely not everyday wear but this was so fun to make and I love the sort of stained glass effect it gives. <3
For my advanced higher art I hand painted and sewed together these trousers. You can probably guess it took a very look time to paint these and if I ever made something like this again I would get the pattern printed onto fabric. However, I really liked making these and I love how they have turned out. The pattern is based on a cartoon illustration of waves and I think it gives is an out-there, eccentric look.
If you know me, you know I love a bargain and go out of my way to spend the least money possible. Anyway, it was my sisters birthday on last week and I wanted to get her a cool, special present that I didn't have to spend a fortune on. She had said that she loved the design I had painted on a tote bag as a fundraiser, so I bought a black long sleeved crop top, as I felt she would wear it more than a plain white t-shirt, and painted on the same design with fabric paints. Although it took many coats and a lot of time, I think it turned out really well and she really liked it. So, if you're stuck on what to get someone as a present, for Christmas or birthdays, or want to save a bit of cash, be creative, think outside of the box and DIY
You are probably bored of my tiger posts, however, I decided to paint a tiger on a denim jacket, after having practised on my jeans. I found this denim jacket in a charity shop (shout out to Recy-coll) and really liked the way that there was one full panel of denim across the back. I decided to then fill this panel with my picture of a tiger head, and a pink background. I think the square painted panel on the back gives a sort of pop-art effect which I really like and I think it makes the jacket much more interesting. From the front it looks like a regular denim jacket but then she turns around and then appears a fierce, bold tiger head. Love it
Happy Halloween! Halloween is a fabulous holiday and the best part about it is the costumes. Deciding what costume to wear and whether to go as Cher from clueless or team up with friends and be the Spice Girls, the excitement is real. However, I love to see what celebrities are wearing, especially ones that go to a massive distance and make sure their costumes are original and interesting.
From Colton Haynes with his extreme costumes such as Marge from the Simpsons, Miss Piggy and Ursula from the Little mermaid to Heidi Klum’s traditional crazy costumes such as, cartoon character, Jessica Rabbit, a convincing old person and the human body with no skin.
However, if you know me then you know I love Halsey, as a singer and person so I am going to talk about her costumes last year and this year. Last year she wore four Halloween costumes, first of all she went as an angel, the next day she went a different route and dressed as Beatrix Kiddo, The Bride from Kill Bill along with Ashton Irwin from 5 Seconds of Summer.
Her next costume was the cliché Harley Quinn which she did perfectly, then, from the popular show Stranger things, she went as Eleven which I personally loved and thought she did a really good job of it.
This year she went as Daisy from the Great Gatsby along with G-Easy going as Gatsby. They looked fabulous and Halsey was a gorgeous Daisy. Im already excited about next year and what these celebrities are going to come up with.
I wrote this post in the sunnier days of june and I am having the summer blues so I thought I would post it today as a throwback.
I picked out these tacky shorts from Primark as I thought they were fantastic. the words of ‘young love’ written on my shorts makes me cringe with the beautiful cheesiness of them. I think these shorts are very funky and cool and I actually really like the stars, hearts and swirls that give the illusion they have been drawn on. I have combined these shorts with a bright pink floral top and my favourite yellow jelly shoes. The bright colours of the top and shoes combine perfectly with the patterned shorts in creating a summery, out-there outfit for beaching or shopping. I’ve actually worn this outfit a bit too many times because it is just perfect for the hot weather we’ve had in Scotland recently.
I don’t usually like wearing shorts much because, let’s face it, they aren’t the most flattering items of clothing. However, these shorts give me a bit of space around my legs and the fringed denim around the leg rims give a blurred sort of look that helps with how flattering they are. Don’t be afraid to ever buy something a couple sized bigger because, I mean, that’s what belts are for and the right belt is just a visual dream come true.
It may sound like I’ve been buying clothes and selling them on just to make money, but I actually really enjoy doing this and I want to share these unique clothes with other people in a way that means they don’t have to be displayed on crowded racks amongst tonnes of other clothing.
So, if you want to check out some cool vintage clothing, you know where to find me ;)

By simply wearing a tank top over a t-shirt you can add an extra item of clothing to your wardrobe. I love this look because it is so easy to just grab a plain t-shirt from your wardrobe and an old tank top and create a diverse, fashionable look. In this look, I have worn a plain black strappy dress with a t-shirt underneath which combines formal and casual clothing which makes it suitable for many occasions.
The shoes I am wearing in this picture are a stunning, charity shop special. These wedges are bright and colourful and I was so excited when I found these in a high street charity shop. The bright floral patterns on these shoes contrast with the rest of the black and white outfit which really makes them stand out.
